ORIXÁS OF UMBANDA - OXALÁ

Before beginning this post, I want to emphasize that the simpleexplanations below refer to the orishas in Umbanda. We know thatthe brothers of Candomble, Batuque and other religions of African origin, have other concepts, explanations, use the official mythology, among other things, to explain and work with the Orisha. In this blog, considering all the different opinions, will be passed only conceptsof Umbanda, in order to clarify the children of faith, about herparents and mother of his head!

Thanks!

ORISHA - OXALÁ - THE LORD OFTHE UNIVERSE!

The first orisha to be reviewed in this series of studies that addressthe nine Orixás working in Umbanda is Oxalá.

Oxalá is the Orisha of creation. Olorum son, he is the Orisha Supreme. This Orisha represents the feelings of Faith, Love and Peace.

And nobody better to represent these feelings than Jesus Christ.

Therefore, Umbanda Oxalá binds to the image of Jesus.

It is very common to see in Umbanda, atop the altar, the image ofJesus with outstretched arms as if welcoming all who seek helpthere. And it is precisely this message to be passed! A welcomingfigure, a father, a being who will help you, solve their problems, healtheir wounds moral, spiritual and physical, giving you comfort and hope!

Oxalá, syncretism in, could also be represented by other spirits of light thatpassed through the land and spread messages of peace and comfort.

But we must always remember that Oxalá is an Orisha, which had itscult originating in Africa, arriving in Brazil through the Negro slaves.

Oxalá, as seen above governs the faith, the white, peace, love. Allpure feelings that are associated with the Orisha.
Its color is white.

Their offerings are made with white candles, mineral water, milk andwhite flowers.

Can manifest themselves mestizos, blacks and other entities of theold line Oxalá, however is rare, to say that does not happen, demonstrations falangeiros Orixá.
